Carroll Community College Library Policies

Guidelines for Acceptance of Materials

• The library accepts only materials that support the academic mission of the College.
• The library reserves the right to refuse any donation.

The Library does not accept:

• Textbooks, unless they are currently used in courses offered at Carroll Community College
• Damaged books (including books with evident of water damage, mold, torn pages, odor, etc.)
• Computer, technical, or software-related materials older than five years.
• VHS tapes
• Audio cassettes
• Vinyl recordings
• Journals, magazines, or newspapers
• Hardcover fiction

• Maryland Book Bank
• American Library Association: maintains a list of regional organizations that accept book donations
• Discover Books (via Northern Landfill blue bins; call 410-386-4550 for more information)
