Before requesting materials through Interlibrary Loan or searching for books or articles on the Internet, use the resources that the college library provides to determine whether the college can provide the information that you need.
If you do not know how to use the library resources described in the boxes to the right, librarians would be happy to assist you.
Use the online catalog to search for these materials. DVDs do not go out of the library, but other materials can be checked out using a Carroll library card or a library card from one of the local public libraries.
The college participates in the the Carroll Library Partnership, so this is a shared catalog with the local public libraries and the Hoover Library at McDaniel College. Before completing an Interlibrary Loan Form, check to determine whether the item is available at Carroll or at these local libraries.
In addition to print books, the library also subscribes to many ebooks that will appear in catalog searches with a link. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to access these ebooks remotely with their ID number.
The research databases provided by the library include citations for periodical articles and the full text of periodical articles. Some may also include articles in reference sources, images, audio, video, and other media.
If you have the citation for an article, use the Full-Text Periodical Titles List below to determine whether the full text of that article is available in this library in any format before requesting the article through Interlibrary Loan.
Students, faculty, and staff of Carroll Community College will be able to open these articles remotely with their ID number right from the list.
