Web sites

There are a few simple tricks you can use while searching Google to help you narrow down your results:

  • .gov, .edu, and .org domains tend to be the most reputable, so consider using a domain limiter to narrow your results list. To narrow your results to a domain, simply type site:[your domain here] after your keyword searches. For example, a general keyword search for motivation returns 1.16 billion results, while a domain search for motivation site:.org returns only 16.2 million results.
  • You might also use a date limiter to limit your searches to recent results. To use the date limiter, click on the "Tools" link beneath the search box. Three drop-down menus will appear, including 1 labeled "Any Time." Click on it and select "Custom range" from the drop-down menu. Then, enter your date range and click "Go."
