Biology Research Guide: Find Organizations

This directory, maintained by the public library's Community Information Service, contains information on a variety of non-profit and community organizations based in Carroll County and the region. Resources include governmental agencies, recreational opportunities, clubs and organizations, day care centers, and religious services.

You can find organizations or government sites on the web by either doing an Advanced Search and limiting your search to the domain .ORG or .GOV, or by just adding .org or .gov to your search terms:

Example: "quit smoking" .org

You can also add site:org or site:gov to your search:

• stem cell research site:gov

You can use the print Reference book Encyclopedia of Associations to find organizations. It is a 3 volume set.
