Personal project of an art historian. Makes available quality, public domain images with an emphasis on "ancient, medieval, and Renaissance European art and architecture". Some non-Western Islamic, and post-Renaissance images included.

Personal site searchable by artist, nationality, or time frame. Main feature is number of high quality scanned images of works although no analysis of the work is included. Featured artists have biographies reprinted from the online Encarta encyclopedia.

Allows you to search the Creative Commons for images for public use.
