In the online catalog, you can find information about the library's books, ebooks, streaming videos, and audiovisual materials (but not journal articles! See the "Find Articles" tab for more information about those sources). Please keep these hints in mind when searching the catalog:
-The catalog does not perform full-text searches, so try to stick with a few broad keywords
-You can search the holdings for Carroll County Public Library and Hoover Library (McDaniel College) by changing the "Limit By" drop-down menu on the search page from "Carroll Community College Titles Only" to "All Formats."
-Use the "Type of Material" limiter on the left-hand side of the search results screen to narrow down to a particular type of resource (e.g. eBook, DVD).
-You can access streaming videos and eBooks by clicking on the link to the right of "CLICK LINK" within a catalog entry. See this screenshot of an ebook link for an example. You will need to enter your college e-mail address and password to access the content.
-When searching for print titles, be sure to click on the Availability link to see the item's status (Checked In, Checked Out, On Hold, etc...).
CCC Library's print holdings are organized according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Call numbers always begin with 1-2 letters followed by a series of numbers and letters (e.g. RM 705 D74 2011). Most physical therapy books are housed in the circulating collection on the library's lowest level. The most relevant sections of our collection for PTA students are:
RM - Therapeutics (Physical therapy titles are mostly housed between RM695-893)
RB - Pathology
RC - Internal medicine
Use the widget below to search CCC's ProQuest Ebook Central collection, which houses over 200,000 ebooks.
If you are looking for a resource that we don't have in the library, we may be able to obtain it through interlibrary loan. Complete the interlibrary loan request form or contact the reference desk at 410-386-8340 or ref_desk@carrollcc.edu. We may not be able to track down all items, and the earlier the request is made, the higher the likelihood that we will obtain it for you in time to complete your assignment.
