Education Research Guide: Educational Theorists
The Assignment
- Select one education theorist
- Research the main theories of the therorist
- Prepare a 15 min. PowerPoint presentation
- Show how those theories apply to a classroom setting
- Include demonstrations, manipulatives, graphics, as appropriate
- Lead a brief discussion on "How might we apply this theorist's ideas and works to our classroom?"
- Write a one page reflection on how the ideas of the theorist are applicable to the classroom

Finding Books
The best way to find the most information about an educational theorist would be to find a book about that person.
Under the Find Books tab above, search the catalog by subject to find books about a person.
Search by author to find books written by a person.
If you are unable to find a book about a theorist in the Carroll CC catalog, search the catalog for the Partnership which includes the Hoover Library catalog at McDaniel College, and "request" a book identified there.
Another option would be to identify a book on the theorist in the WorldCat catalog and request it through Interlibrary Loan. Allow at least 2 weeks for delivery.
